Down at Blackers Hole lies Infinite Gravity, a monster route taking the full length of the cave at a whopping 40m, and it all takes place above the Atlantic Ocean. It’s so much more than just an 8a+. Just getting there is a mission though. After scrambling down onto a sea ledge where you camp (amazing spot), you further drop down onto the sea front, where a jog along a wave swept ledge leads you to another ledge, more wave jogging, and then a tyrolean traverse on fixed ropes above the sea. Exciting stuff, yet once arrived you could be anywhere in the world, especially when the sun is out. The route it’s self is jug after jug, you could rest anywhere along the 40m of climbing if you have the endurance, if not you just have to climb fast. I didn’t have the stamina this time, but would love to return in the future for this super inspiring pitch.

Back on the grit, but still with Mr Randall, the sun has been out for a shocking 4 days. I think the sun itself is so inspiring, and makes everything look so much less intimidating. That said we have both managed some excellent days out, culminating in the perfect end to the week where we both made ascents of the esoteric and rarely repeated Fat Slapper (E7 6c) at Eastwood Rocks. Burly positive climbing, and with the friction of grit makes this a very special climb, a real must do. The final move leaves you feeling like Seb himself.
